Do I need an EPC?
An Energy Performance Certificate is required for properties when constructed, sold or let with the UK. The Energy Performance Certificate provides details on the energy performance of the property and what you can do to improve it.
Can Really Easy arrange an EPC for me?
Yes. We have a National network of fully qualified EPC providers. The process is simple. You simple contact Really Easy on 0800 092 4047 and we will arrange for one of our EPC provders to call you within 24 hours to arrange a suitably convenient time to inspect your property and produce a certificate. Both residential and Commercial EPCs are available via Bidonmyhouse. We charge £60 + vat for arranging the EPC on your behalf. On occassion your Bidonmyhouse local agent may be able to recommend a local provider of EPCs and if you go direct you should be able to get a great deal.
Are there any exclusions to having an EPC?
Yes. These include: places of worship, temporary buildings that will be used for less than 2 years, stand-alone buildings with total useful floor space of less than 50 square metres, industrial sites, workshops and non-residential agricultural buildings that don’t use a lot of energy some buildings that are due to be demolished, holiday accommodation that’s rented out for less than 4 months a year or is let under a licence to occupy listed buildings - you should get advice from your local authority conservation officer if the work would alter the building’s character, residential buildings intended to be used less than 4 months a year
Do you think you have an EPC but lost it?
Energy Performance Certificates are valid for up to 10 years from date of issue. It is now a requirement to have a valid EPC for your rental property or if you are considering selling your property, you will need to produce an Energy Performance Certificate or pay for one!
Save yourself at least £75 if you suspect an Energy Performance Certificate was carried out on your property, it takes just a few seconds to find out.
All energy assessors are required by Law to register the Energy Performance Certificate on national EPC Register in England and Wales.
Thankfully in England and Wales, you can search for an EPC using the post code of the property. Start to search for an EPC using EPC Register.
In Scotland, you will require a Report Reference Number or RRN number for short! So unless you have a previous copy of the EPC, chances of finding it are pretty slim. Of course you can contact your previously-appointed Energy Assessor to see if they have a copy on file.
